Traditional craftsmanship meets a contemporary understanding of architectural materials and finishes.
Led by a sixth-generation painter, SURFACE combines generations of practical knowledge with a careful understanding of modern coatings, materials and surface performance. We work across everything from finely executed repainting projects to specialist surface treatments, collaborating with homeowners, architects and designers to select finishes that are appropriate to both the building and the way it will be lived in.
Every project begins with thoughtful preparation, clear advice and an understanding that long-lasting results depend on the work beneath the finish. Whether restoring existing materials or introducing new ones, our aim is always the same: to create work that is technically sound, visually resolved and built to endure.

From simple touch-ups to complete interior and exterior repaints, SURFACE works across walls, ceilings, trims, doors, facades, eaves, fences and other painted surfaces. Where a new direction is needed, we can also help develop a colour scheme suited to the architecture, materials and natural light of the space. Every project is approached with careful preparation and a finish designed to last.

Learn moreFrom minor cracks, dents and worn or faded finishes through to rust, coastal corrosion and more extensive surface damage, SURFACE repairs and restores walls, timber, metal, masonry and painted surfaces. This includes renewing aged timber coatings and weathered finishes, treating corrosion and deterioration at the source, and applying coating systems suited to the material and its exposure. The aim is to extend the life of the surface while restoring how it looks and performs.

SURFACE offers planned timber maintenance to keep exterior details looking good and performing as they should. A regular program of inspection, cleaning, preparation and recoating helps address wear early—before it becomes a larger restoration job.
